The Legacy of Lucianne Horace

Lucianne Horace is the heartbeat of Victor Global Initiative. She signed her documents with an “X”, sacrificing so her son could one day write his own future. Her life was marked by hardship, but also by unwavering love and perseverance.

Her legacy reminds us that a Victor is not defined by where they start, but by their willingness to keep moving forward. Today, we carry her name and spirit into every youth shelter we support and every mentorship program we lead.

A Promise Born from Sacrifice

Summer of 1992

While living in a shelter in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Pierre-Richard did not know that his mother was hospitalized only a few streets away, dying from tuberculosis. She passed away alone.

That sacrifice became the foundation of a promise. The “X” she signed became a symbol, not of limitation, but of resilience and opportunity for future generations.

Why We Exist

From Survival to Service

Our founder, Pierre-Richard Victor, knows firsthand what it means to navigate the challenges of homelessness. After leaving Haiti at 15, he moved through group homes and shelters, sometimes sleeping in train stations or riding subway lines through the night to stay safe.

1999

Enlisted in the U.S. Army, grounding his life in discipline and leadership.

25+ Years

Built a distinguished career with United Airlines, serving global communities.

2025

Founded VGI to ensure no child facing adversity feels invisible or alone.

A Mission Rooted in Family

In 2002, Pierre-Richard became a foster parent, eventually welcoming eight children into his home. In 2013, he adopted his two sons, Matthew and Jeremiah.

Raising them as a single father transformed his definition of leadership. It proved that a sanctuary and a mentor are the keys to changing a child's trajectory.

The VGI Pillars

  • A Sanctuary: Stability for those in transition.
  • A Mentor: Guidance from those who have walked the path.
  • A Path to Victory: Resources to build a future.
“I walked that stage for the 15-year-old boy in the shelter in Elizabeth, and for every kid who feels left behind.”
